The Foundation of Differentiation: Knowing Your Students
Opening Keynote Address, Friday April 18 9:00-10:30am

Description: In this keynote address, the presenters will set the stage for teachers to implement linguistic differentiation in their classrooms by understanding their changing ELL demographics. Following explicit discussion of relevant student factors, the process of this linguistic differentiation will be modeled as a means for engaging all students in data-driven learning.

Description: Against a backdrop of opening activities, participants will develop a shared perspective on the teaching of reading to ELLs at all grade and English language development levels. Conference attendees will take away concrete action steps and a resource list for promoting differentiated reading development across grade levels within all content areas.
